Curtis walking Moira the Bullmastiff on a forest trail in Finland

Hi, I'm Curtis. I Build Websites for Dog Breeders.

Not an agency, not a support queue, just me: a Finland-based developer who fell in love with dogs, and now builds kennel websites for a living.

From Army Mechanic to Kennel Websites

Before any of this, I spent 8 years in the British Army as a vehicle mechanic and recruiter, including leading a small team as section commander. It taught me to be precise, to follow through, and to explain things clearly to people who've never seen the inside of an engine before. That habit never really left me.

I moved to Finland a few years ago, after a long-distance relationship and more visits than I can count, and fell for the people, the nature, and the pace of life here. I lived in Pori first, and I'm in Oulu now.

I wasn't a dog person before Finland. That changed through a family connection I made here: I got to know Moira, a gentle Bullmastiff, and spent time helping look after litters at a family-connected kennel. Moira has since passed away, but she's the reason dogs became part of my life.

On the tech side, I started out building simple WordPress blogs after leaving the Army. I realised I loved being able to put what was in my head straight onto a web page, so I started teaching myself to code properly. That grew into a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology, which I'm finishing now at Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk).

How Bullberry Bullmastiffs Became KennelSites

The first kennel website I ever built was for Bullberry Bullmastiffs, run by the family connection who introduced me to dogs in the first place. I wanted to give their litters and pedigrees a home that actually did them justice, instead of a Facebook page that buries every post after a week.

Building it, I realised something: this combined almost everything I genuinely enjoy and I'm good at. Dogs, puppies, building websites, and most of all, helping breeders show off the dogs they've poured years into properly. That realisation is the entire reason KennelSites exists.

Bullberry.fi is still live today, and it's the clearest proof of what I can build for you.

These Days, It's Kirma

Kirma is my first ever puppy, a Rhodesian Ridgeback still under a year old. I wanted a large, active breed with a bit of personality, and she's already proven she has plenty of it.

Between the puppy walks, the canoe trips, and the daily chaos, dogs aren't just how I got into this work, they're still very much my actual life. When you send me photos of your litter, I'm genuinely looking forward to it.
